Remarkable Sound From An Inexpensive Headphone

If your looking for a foldable, lightweight, high performance, “Low Cost” headphone for your MP3 player - This is it - The JVC Ha-s150p “FLATS” Lightweight Foldable Stereo Headphone (jvc Has150p) retail price - $19.95. I bought mine at a local discount store for an unbelievable $8. These are available in 6 different colors. Mine was pink due to the fact this was the only one being offered. What counts is the sound producing quality, not the color.

I do a lot of sound editing and have found these produce crystal clear highs and midrange and - true sounding bass - Not the heavy head banging bass that drowns out mid range and highs that teenagers like. I have 10 different brands (Sony, Koss, Panasonic, Seenheiser, etc) of headphones in my collection that I use for recording and editing, and these are the most comfortable.

What I like about these headphones -

- The large 30mm neodymium (rare earth magnet) driver units can take a load. I’ve cranked the volume up to the max without any sound distortion. Be aware however, that if you crank these up too high, due to the higher frequency, for extended periods of time, this thing will definitely do some damage to your hearing.
- Not mentioned here in the Product Description is the excellent frequency range of 12Hz - 23,000Hz which is seldom found in lightweight headphones in this price range. This is what accounts for the crystal clear highs, mid range and true bass. Most headphones of this type only have an average 20Hz - 20,000 Hz range producing a some what muffled sound.
- Also not mentioned in the Product Description is the Sensitivity
rating which is 105db at 1mw. It takes very little power to drive this device to maximum volume, extending battery life, making it an excellent choice for MP3 players.
- The mini-cans come with very soft pads that you can wear for hours without your ears becoming sore.
- Most headphones of this type come with all plastic head bands that are easily broken. This one has a spring stainless steel strip embedded in the head strap providing greater strength.
- And last, but not least, is the ridiculously low price for this quality product.

The only fault I found was the rather flimsy cord, which is typical for JVC headphones. You won’t be able to constantly yank on these cords and expect them to last. However, the 4′ cord length is short enough not to become tangled up when using an MP3 Player.

Based on JVC Quality, Sound, Price - Recommended!
