Great motherboard

This is a great motherboard, with a great price attached. This is the board that I used for my first build in about 10 years. This board was easy to install, easy to set up, and just plain made my life much easier while I was working on this project. It has done everything I have thrown at it and them some.

But, in truth, the main reason that I wanted to write this review is due to the great customer support at EVGA. After I gathered all the components for this computer, I ran into a big snag. I could not load Windows Vista! I tried for over a week to get the computer up and running without any results. I went to the EVGA site and listed a cry for help on their forums thinking that it was a problem may be in the BIOS. Within 2 days, my computer is up and running. That doesn’t sound like a great piece of customer support, but when you take into account that the problem wasn’t even in the motherboard or the BIOS (as we found out it was a bad DVD-ROM) and they still helped me find the problem & fix it, then you realize how good their support really is.

Thanks to EVGA, and to all the Forum Members!

Another quality EVGA product
Another solid motherboard from EVGA. I used this to replace my older NF41 AMD motherboard which ran years without a problem and this one seems just as solidly built. I’m running a Phenom X4 920 with 8GB of ram with Vista x64 with zero problems. As rock stable as my Intel quadcore. Only gripes I have is with placement of sata ports which makes it hard to connect cables one motherboard is in case. Lack of firewire and esata is the only other biggie but then again you can’t expect all that and quality in a $100 motherboard. LCD diagnostic on motherboard is awesome and should be standard on all motherboards nowadays.
I had to knock off a star for lack of virtualization support in the latest bios for this motherboard. What this means is that you can’t use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7. And no future bios expected to fix this.

Works Perfect - Sent the 8200 Version
I got the 8200 version of this motherboard sent to me instead of the 8300. Other than that it works well… no problems.
