Great device for the money.
I chose this DVD player based on price alone and was pleasantly surprised at its quality. It’s much smaller than the DVD player it replaced, and produces excellent sound and picture quality compared to other sub-$40 players. There isn’t much in the way of face controls (in case the remote is lost) but that’s typical of this price range, and better won’t be found without spending more.
My favorite thing about this DVD player is that it has a *real* power button on its face. That’s right, you don’t have to leave it in standby mode, slowly sucking up power and raising your bill when not in use. No messing with cords or turning it off at the surge protector. How refreshing!

Excellent - for what it is
It’s a very simple player, which I bought to watch foreign DVD discs - and it works great for that purpose.
Mine came with US power plug, but has auto switching power supply, 110-240V; get an adapter plug and you can use it all over the world.
It plays american DVDs - Region 1, NTSC.
It plays DVDs I bought in Europe - all of which seem to be “region free”, PAL. So I don’t know for sure if it would play DVDs designated for any specific region, other than 1.
It comes with relatively “low tech” connectors:
- composite video (RCA plug)
- component video (3 RCA plugs)
- S-video
- stereo sound (2 RCA plugs)
- coaxial digital audio (RCA plug)
It can output either NTSC or PAL signal to the TV. There is appropriate setting in the menu - defaults to “auto”, but you can also change it to either PAL or NTSC. And since setting it incorrectly on one-system TV could leave you with no picture, there is a sticker on top of the unit, describing which buttons to press on the remote to reset the DVD to defaults.
Remote control is small, crowded and definitely cheap-looking - and it has to be pointed directly at the sensor on the DVD player (somewhat annoying). There is no LCD display on the unit, and only 3 buttons (eject, play/pause and stop). Overall the player certainly “looks it’s price” - but as long as it works, I’m fine with it.
I bought one of these for myself, one for my mom, and another one for my sister living in Europe :).

Great price and works well.
I bought this for the upstairs TV that the kids use and it works great and very affordable!
